I think that this looks just like mine. That strip should cone off by removing the 5 or 6 screws and prying it off carefully as I indicate in my previous post.
If you are under warranty, wouldn't it be best to take it to dealer? If there is any serious water damage, your warranty could be void if you take it apart.
In the mean time (until repair is made) I would leave the slide closed to prevent water from running down the slide ends.
