On our 5er, the door between the bedroom and the bathroom is a slider. The door is held open during travel by a strip of translucent plastic (vinyl?) that is attached by a screw to the inside of the door jam and then wraps around the edge of the door and snaps onto the side of the door. The snap is quite tight and the pressure exerted on it is side to side (shear) making it unlikely that it can come undone. If the strap were to be placed on the door and the snap on the jam, the door trying to close could pop the snap. Don't know how your strap is attached. Something to check
