It could be that the breaker has gone bad, especially since you changed out the GFI outlet, try changing the breaker (lowes or Homedepot) it has to be the same brand or one that is compatible with the box, also, some residential homes are using what's called an AFI (arc fault) breaker, usually identified by a green band on the breaker face (I hate these breakers) they are very sensitive to flashes from any switch and will trip at the drop of a hat. If it's not the breaker or the GFI outlet, then you have to have a short in the wiring somewhere (there's no magic to it, it all happens by logic) or maybe something is not wired correctly. Keep checking.
