Extended Mirrors required?

I'm wondering if I will require an "extended" mirrors attachment. I have a Dodge RAM 1500 Hemi and a Loredo 291TG.

Thanks.

Only if you want to see what you are going to hit before you hit it. Seriously, any TV towing an 8ft. wide trailer requires some type of towing mirror to be safely operated. Without them your blind-spots are just too large. Even a clip-on that vibrates is better than nothing. JM2˘, Hank

My last two trucks were ordered with factory tow mirrors but before that I used add-ons similar to these. http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....=CIPA-DG-10700 They do vibrate a little at certain speeds but are still much better than nothing. Hope this helps, Hank .... be sure to get the correct size to fit your make, year, model and trim level. ??? year? SLT, Sport, Larime ?

I'll second hankpage's suggestion on the Cipa Custom Towing Mirrors. I switched from the "Universal Towing Mirror" (Cipa strap-on) which were pretty worthless, to the Custom mirrors for my Tundra when I got the larger 250RS to tow, and I really like them. I see a lot of people recommend the McKesh, never had them as I didn't want to mess potential scratches or huge projections, but you definitely need something to be able to see what's up closer behind you. Regards, BGood

I used the jiggling strap on mirrors for 3-4 years and was almost glad when one blew off and was run over by 10-12 18 wheelers! I ordered snap-on mirrors made by K Source through eBay.
See http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5897&viewitem=

I really like these mirrors. They have adjustment screws in case the extended mirrors are too easy/too hard to move.

Dodge makes a very nice tow mirror for a factory fit. i have them on mine, and i usually just leave them up all the time, but you can flip them down if you perfer. mine do tend to wack a branch or two most of the time. i pull a multitude of different trailers all the time and they seem to work for just about anything that i need. when they are up the blind spot mirror is in the perfect position, when down they are a little ackward. you can usually pick them up on ebay for a couple of hundred bucks, without power and heat anyway. they only really bounch around when i am sitting still and ideling, but i have a diesel so things tend to shake a bit when sitting still, might be better on a gas truck

I just picked up a set of Brand New McKesh mirrors today from a guy on Craigslist for $65.00, he had paid $175 in 2009 for them and just never used them.
There was no way I was going to pay $500 for the OEM Dodge Tow mirrors for my 09 Ram.
My Dad had a set of the McKesh years ago and they worked Great!

I currently have a pair that strap onto the existing mirror (Pep Boys for about $25 each). They serve their purpose, however I am considering spending the money on OEM Tow mirrors. Found them for my Tundra for $350. What stinks is that the original invoice was in the truck when I bought it new to me and the tow mirrorws were originally installed.

This is what I've used for years. They work perfect and are a breeze to install and remove. Once you get them setup they will stay that way unless you bump them of course. I just strap mine on and I'm ready to go. May take 1 min tops to put them on, 30 secs to take off.
