Thoughts in TV

We have the 2011 Avalanche 340TG.

We pull it with a 2001 2500HD 6.0 gas burner. 2wd. Crew cab, long wheel base. It has 265k miles on it.

Saw a 1994 3500 7.1 gas burner. 2wd. Crew cab, long wheel base. It has 181k miles on it.

We only use the truck to pull the camper 30-40 miles to the lake 4 or 5 times a year. Thinking may also may pull it on a 150 mile trip once or twice. The only other time the truck gets used is to haul off the trash once a week. Haul a 4 wheeler 10 miles few times a year. Maybe 4 or 5 trips to town (25 mi) a year to pick up some lumber or plywood.

Looking for your thoughts on making a trade.

Thanks

Not so sure you would be making and improvement, I would keep what you have as long as your use is not more than you say. Both trucks would be getting pretty tired.

I'm not sure I would trade one high mileage vehicle for another just based on mileage, as the 1994 is much older and the things like rubber bushings and motor mounts are going to wear based on age rather than miles. There's something to be said for keeping the vehicle that you know the history of.

Thanks for your thoughts. Think I will keep what I have.

I think you have made a wise choice. Better to stay with what's been working for you and you know the history on vs going for something totally unknown.
