thermostat issue?

Good morning! I'm hoping the collective wisdom of the group can help us. We are in week 1 of a 3 week trip to Georgia. I turned on the furnace to knock out the morning chill, and the AC came on! There was room temp air coming from the AC as well as warm air coming from the furnace ducts. We've never had a minute's trouble out of the heat/air. I tripped the AC breaker and the furnace is working fine now. Does it seem likely that the problem is in the thermostat, or the unit itself? Thank you in advance for your help, and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your winter!

It is your thermostat setting. If it is not set to “Auto” it will turn the AC blower on (just the fan) as well as the furnace.

In furnace mode, if the fan is set to Lo or High, the AC fan will operate and assist with air circulation. Setting the fan to auto will turn off the AC blower and should correct your issue.

What year and model of RV and what brand/model thermostat?

Duh! Somehow in our fumbling the fan got turned to Hi. We are so embarrassed, we've been rving for 30 years, and missed something this simple. Thank you for your quick response!

These things happen. I was able to respond quickly because I have been there and done that. We are all here to help each other, not judge (most of us anyway).

Glad it was an easy fix and enjoy the rest of your trip!
