When in storage I also turn the power off on the disconnect switch in the battery department, is that okay?
However my batteries are getting run down while in storage which is normally only in storage for a month or two between usage.
Should I leave the disconnect switch on in the battery department so that the solar system continues to charge the battery?
Or should I purchase a battery disconnect and hook it up directly to the two battery system or just disconnect my batteries while in storage?
I know, lots of questions, but batteries are NOT cheap and running them down all the time is good for them and I don't want to have to replace them every month or so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would do the part in red. Why? If you leave your battery connected and rely on the solar system, should anything go wrong with the solar system, your batteries will be dead when you return. While the solar system is "intended to be trouble free, many things can happen from a mouse chewing a wire to a crow pecking the solar panel and shorting it out to a bunch of leaves or snow falling onto the panels and stopping the sunlight from reaching them.
If the batteries are fully charged when you park the trailer, just disconnect the batteries to prevent the "phantom drain" and they will keep their charge from 3-6 months without any problems (assuming they are not faulty in themselves)...
Granted, you can "rely on solar or rely on shore power or rely on a trickle charger, but if that system fails, your batteries will discharge. If you "think it's working" and it isn't, you're going to find an unwelcome surprise when you need them to work so you can hitch and go. If you disconnect them you "know that they will be ready to go when you return in a month or so.
