slide out cable

I am near Albany NY on the way back to Florida. One of the slide out cables popped out of its threaded housing. The cable is fine, the threaded end is fine and the threads are ok. I was able to get it threaded back into the housing about 2-3 turns but think it should be tighter. I pulled the slide out back a few inches and it seems to be holding but it makes me nervous. I may try camping world on monday, there may be one around here somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions or recommendations? It is a 2010 Keystone Passport 2910BH. Any ideas would be appreciated.
