I get to find out how good Keystone's response is...

I am hopeful Keystone will respond quickly to my dealer since I have trips planned starting next weekend.

My problem... I was reading on rv.net how a guy with a 2010 fifth wheel had creaking noises when hitching up, at the point of lowering the trailer onto the hitch so the truck takes the weight. His problem was apparently issues with how the walls were hung/attached to the frame.

So, my trailer makes a lot of noise too. This is my first fifth wheel and we have only been out in it once so it did seem wierd to me. Today I took it out to the dealer, the shop foreman looked at it, and indeed there is problem. We ran the trailer up and down off the truck a few times, he could feel the wall over the pin moving independently of the frame.

I left the trailer at the dealer for now, he said it could take a few days to a few weeks to get Keystone to give authorization to proceed with fixing it. I am really hoping it is a few days so we can get our trailer back sooner rather than later, we love it (other than this issue).

Hello fellow Albertan. Sorry to hear about your problem. Doesn't sound like a quick fix to me even if keystone is prompt with a reply. Good luck in any case.

And for the record, I have no reason not to believe I'll get all the support I need from Keystone and my dealer. The dealer was responsive yesterday when I took the trailer out, and he explained the process with Keystone on getting approval to do the work. I just hope Keystone is able to respond quickly as I have camping trips already booked starting next weekend. My kids are really looking forward to getting out.

Hey 96
I m that guy that had the wall/frame issues. Make sure you call keystone customer service yourself and ask for Denise. Once I spoke with her regarding my concerns/issues, there was no delay in getting keystone on board to expedite the diagnosis and repairs. She was very helpful and responsive. I would recommend that you personally perform a visual inspection yourself of the frame and welds/wall anchors etc. while the chin is opened up. If any frame work or welding is needed, insist on a certified welder to make repairs. I know that my dealer (Camping World) didn't have one and looked at me funny when I asked if they had one. His answer was "we have welders". I laughed and said no thanks. Fortunately, no welding was needed. Good luck. Keep us updated.

Talked to my dealer today. They said they spent 20 minutes on the phone with Keystone this morning. Based upon the measurements my dealer did they feel the frame flex is within tolerances, but it does look like the sound the trailer is making is not. From what I've been told Keystone has authorized the dealer to open it up and put additional screw in place (wall to frame). The dealer can't get me in until the first week of June so I'm told Keystone has also authorized us to take the trailer back so we can go camping (we have two trips booked between now and when the dealer can get it in).

So, looks like everything is being handled well and I'm one happy camper (pun intended) with both Keystone and my dealer!
