Sliding closet doors

The right side closet door has detached from the rollers which had been fastened to the top of the door. Four small screws held the roller bracket to the top of the door. Looks as thought will need to disassemble the entire system to make the repair, unless someone has a better idea! Anyone?

Can you post a picture? I’m thinking your door rollers have a “hook” that grabs the post screwed to the top of the door.

Cannot provide a phot right now, but yes the bracket fastens to the top of the door via ; small screws which cannot be accessed unless the mechanism is removed which would require dismantling the frame and track.

Look for a “hook” that goes around the post sticking up. Small flathead screwdriver will allow you to unhook both rollers and then re attach the post.

The “hook” is on the part that screws to the top of the door.

A photo of the track area would help.

We had a slider between the bedroom and main cabin. Although we did have the plastic lever releases (which other folks are referring to as the hooks) on the roller blocks, we also had a valance around the whole track area that made it entirely impossible to trip those levers with any tool imaginable. I finally resorted to removing the valance (six screws, relatively easy in-and-out). Then I had plenty of angle to open the levers and drop the door. Decided to remove the door completely because it's only DW and me, we save weight, and it's easier now to squeeze my fat butt past the foot of the bed.
