Converter

Converter in my Hornet is marked WF8835-WF8845-WF8855. Went bad and I replaced it with a WF8955, now outlets show 220v. Wrong amp converter or other problems?

If your converter went bad while plugged in to 220 (240) volts, that was the cause of the failed converter. The converter will not change the voltage coming into the trailer as it only changes AC power to DC power. Before you replace that converter again, make sure you are only plugged into a 120 volt power source.

Is your trailer a 30a (3 prong) or 50a (4 prong)?

If it is 30a, you are likely plugged into a 240v power source which will fry your converter and blow up anything else plugged in that runs off 120v.

If it is a 50a, you likely mis-wired the converter when you installed the new one.

A proper 30a service has a ground, a neutral and a single 120v leg. A proper 50a service has a ground, a neutral and two 120v legs.
