Why doesn't the 2012 Raptor 300MP have a heat duct going to the garage?

Last week was our first trip with our 2012 Raptor 300MP to Daytona Bike Week. Everything worked fine and we really love it.

It was really cool at night so I was running the furnace. My daughter, her husband, and 4 month old grandson were sleeping in the gargage section. I didn't realize at first that the furnace system does not have a duct in the garage. There are the A.C. vents in the ceiling.

Then I read the 2012 Raptor brochure and it said "Ducted heat into garage (select models)".

The first night I had a fan trying to blow across the two living room floor vents into the garage.

The next day I went to Walmart first but they were not carrying 1500 watt heaters since summer is almost upon us. Luckly Lowes had some. This solved the problem of heat in the garage.

I wonder why Keystone didn't run a heat duct into the garage?

Looking at the floorplan ... I assume the furnace is under the sink cabinet. If there is room under the refrigerator it should be easy to run a duct from the furnace to the garage wall by the w/d prep location avoiding plumbing and electric that may be in that wall. There are plenty of blank ports on the furnace plenum that you can use. Like you I don't know why Keystone does not do this unless fumes from stored toys are a concern. Using an adjustable vent register should minimize this concern as you can close it off when not needed. JM2¢, Hank

It probably wouldn't matter if you had the heat duct anyway. I have never heard of any that actually that blew a decent anount of heat into the garage. On my Fuzion I have a heat duct in the garage and you can barely feel any air from it.

Ours in the 384pk is right when you come thru the door from the main living space right were the washer/drier hook ups are and it dont work worth a hoot, we bought an electric space heater from sams club and that will run you out of the garage

x2 what Howdy says- I have a heat vent in my Fuzion as well. It is the furthest from the heater and very little heat actually makes it into garage. I think you have done what most of us have- is put an alternate heat source in there when needed

Also have a 384pk and use a space heater in the garage area. Hopefully the AC will work better in the summer than the heat in the winter in that area.

Returned to the dealer with our Fuzion 375 the week after our first camping trip with the new 5er with several warranty issues.

During the repair of the AV cable from the DVD player to the TV, the tech noted that the heater vent to the garage was ripped as the FW tank was pushed into place after the vent was run and thus tore it.

The dealer repaired the AV cable and the heater duct. Our heat in the garage works really well now.

mine has no heat duct either-(325srx) but has ac ducts.?? I have a small electric heater for it.
like you I found out the hard way, with some one very cold.

floor ducts need a major go over- my bed room heat is ok but not great. need to replace all the flex duct.

I ran a duct of the furnace to the garage in our 06 Raptor 3612. Warmest room in the RV. My 2009 didn't come ducted but the previous owner also ran a duct of the furnace. The garage stays nice and toasty if we want it that way. Plus our 09 380LEV has a 14' garage with several large windows (more opportunity for heat loss) & our garage still stays warm. I'd check your HVAC system out

Yea if I ever get around to pulling down the bottom coroplast I will have to take a good look at the ducting and see if that might be where my problem is.

We have a 2013 Raptor 300MP with the heat duct going onto the garage. Trust me, you would have been purchasing the separate heat source anyway. We spent a week in Bristol around the NASCAR race weekend. It was very cold while we were there. While the rest of the 5er stays nice and warm the garage does not with the interior door shut that divides the unit. Our furnace is located under the steps leading up to the bedroom/bathroom and doesn't seem to throw that much heat clear back into the garage. We did find that leaving the door to the garage wide open the heat was very evenly distributed.
