Need help with shower faucet

Hi there - I'm trying to remove the deck mounted faucet in my neo-angle shower and cannot figure out how to do it. There are access panels on all three sides of the shower tub however the one nearest to the faucet only has about 4 inches between the tub and the vanity so nearly impossible to access. I've looked for another way to access with no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a 2006 Montana Mountaineer. Thanks in advance!

If the wall where the faucet is mounted, has a closet, look for a panel on the back wall of it.

That shower doesn't look like it has a surround and there is a big gap right behind the faucet. What's going on with that?

I have removed the surround - just haven't replaced yet.The wall behind the faucet/shower is an external wall. Have checked in the storage areas and no way to access. There is an external shower - maybe behind that??

The "hole" is the shower diverter..

If the external shower is on that wall, then I would say most likely.

I can't tell from looking at the picture but I'm thinking maybe the valve cartridges can be removed to allow the faucet to be pulled up from the base. Then the water lines can be disconnected from under the faucet. There has to be a simple way to remove that faucet without opening up the walls.
