Unhappy Lost 2011 Laredo 291TG Keys

Lost the keys, and of course the camper is locked. Any easy way out of this? Call a locksmith to tear up the lock? I already called Keystone, and thats what they said to do, since I couldn't see the inside of the lock to give the the Serial #. If the camper was open and I lost the keys, I could give them the SN, then they could send me a new set. I also thought about tring to find a Master Key.

figured I'd throw this out on the forum to see if anyone had tips or tricks for this.

I had the same problem. I ended up taking mine to a local locksmith. It was only like $80 and 30 minutes of my time to get a complete set of keys made. They didn't tear the locks up at all.

Most RV's all use the same few keys. If in a CG, just ask a few neighbors if you can try theirs.

i would go with the storage ideas, i would rather tear up a storage lock, which i would think would be easy to replace. if your storage is anything like mine it pops up right under the booth. and i think that i might be able to get in there myself???? i hope i never have to try. good luck

I would tow it to a local keystone dealer, have them open it with the master and then check the s/n and they can get you a new key.

Question

All the storage compartment keys are the same according to our dealership (haven't tried this yet with my camping friends to verify)...and there are only a few different numbers of keys (again, haven't verified this)...so if you have a group of fellow campers...have them try their keys to the door as well as their storage compartment key. (daughter broke a key in the front door lock and had to get new lock)

The key for the Keystone storage compartment may be the same ---- CH751. However, the door keys appear to be different. So if you lose the key to your storage compartment, look for another nearby Keystone in the campground! I wonder how many other makes/brands of RV's use the same CH751 key for their storage compartments?

Charlie:
Try going to these websites if you are considering replacing those "locks"......

1) www.combi-cam.com
2) www.rvpartscountry.com
3) www.rvpartscenter.com

or....you can Google "rv storage compartment locks" and you will get numerous hits.
