JT's strong arm or Steadyfast fronts only

Does anyone sell just the stabilizer arms for just the fronts of the 5th wheel. I have scissor jacks in the rear and dont need them...

The steadyfast system and jt are designed to stabilize scissor jacks too. There is still movement with them. Which is why there are a lot of happy customers with travel trailers that have scissor jacks. Just get a full system you won't regret it.

I just ordered the JT's system for all 4 corners. My dad has had them for 3-4 years and loves them. Tweetys had a pretty good deal on them. $299 and free shipping.

both systems do about the same thing. i went with the Jt's and they work great,
I actually loosened them once when the wife was in the 5th, to adjust the hieght, and she came to the door right away and said "what's wrong with the 5th, it's wobbling all of a sudden" ;c)

Just installed JT's strong arm yesterday. Instructions are great. I had to deviate from the installation instructions on the rear.
Ours has the telescoping jacks. The telescoping jacks on ours has braces that would/could break off (or bend) the T handle, if the T handle was not turned 90* to the arm. All I did different was extend the arm 4" instead of 1" to determine the mounting point.
Hopefully this slight deviation won't affect the performance.

The brace that is in the way is marked in yellow and the T handle is in red.

Another pic of how the brace and T handle could hit using the 1" recommended extend.

I havent seen that answer yet.

On EDIT "does the JT system just work on the front end of the 5er or is this system also covering the back two scissor jacks?" I was looking at Tweetys and it only shows the front of the 5er nothing is mentioned about the back end scissor jacks!
Thanks,rb

I suspect the answer to that one is going to be personal choice. I don't see much difference between the two except that the Strong Arm has 6 tubes; 4 for the front and two for the back where the SteadyFast has 3 tubes.

The standard Strong Arm kit comes with 6 tubes.

I personally feel that the SteadyFast with three tubes is plenty. The Strong Arm will take double the time and effort to install, roughly, if you choose to install all 6 tubes.

If you think about the geometry and the strength of a triangle, pretty soon you figure out that only three tubes are needed to stabilize a trailer pretty darned well.

My JT's came with 6 tubes. 2 each on the fronts and 1 each on the rear. Will work with scissor or telescoping in the rear!!!

Wind has nothing to do with it. Trailers move about because the landing gear or nose jack and rear stabilizers are not enough to prevent side-to-side and front-to-rear wiggle. Stabilizers like the SteadyFast and Strong Arm create rigid triangles that eliminate pretty much all of the wiggle.

Steve -
Yes, he's back but under a new name. Unfortunately, his stay has been "cut short" due to circumstances beyond his control.

Front part of the steadyfast is installed. I have to weld the back bracket on so that is on hold at this time. My webshots has the pictures. Pretty straight forward on install. Followed the directions(yes I read them). missed one step and had to back track(lock nuts on self-tapping screws). Based on the first test with me in the camper it seems to be a lot steadier. If I had the back end on I think it would be solid like advertised. I can tell a difference with front end shake. The back side is still moving but the front is not. Based on the times on pictures it was right at 3 hours (this includes opening and unpacking everything) for the front end and installing the back foot plates. If I had a welder I would be done, figuring another hour and half with welding. Once you get one side done the other is easy. I hooked and unhooked the truck 3 times. I crawled around on the gravel driveway most of the morning, had a fan blowing on me as it was humid. The rocks were tough on this ole' fat body and knees. Lucky there is pea gravel on the front end, washed stone on the back end.
Last thought for today, the instructions are straight forward and easy to follow.
