Pass through Storage

Hey does any one have any good suggestions for organizing the pass through storage on a 2011 Passport 2910BH model?

Finding clear plastic stacking bins the right size to not waste too much room has been the secret for most of my trailers. Of course they don't work from trailer to trailer. JM2˘, Hank ..... Welcome to the forum.

I use the passthrough storage for bigger, but not heavier stuff. I keep my beach chairs in there, but also the BBQ and ladder. It’s also my temporary storage while camping. Because it’s at the very front end, I try not to put too much stuff to keep my hitch weight down.

I use the rear storage for trailer goodies, such as water/electric hookup parts tub, a sewer tub, a tool tub, a pest/chemical tub, and one empty one I’ve yet to use.

Pass through Storage

I love all of the ideas, thx! I was wondering about sliding drawers that you could put the "milk crates" on or something like that?

Any ideas?

There are a number of sliding storage trays that are available at various RV supply outlets - including CW and PPL. They come in various sizes but they are not cheap! You can expect to pay $300+ per tray.
Here are some examples that I found by doing a Google search (sliding RV storage tray)
Sliding Storage Trays (CW) $400 - $600
Quick Draw 2-way sliders $350
Journeyman Sliding Trays
Slim Slider Storage Trays $450+
Kwikee super slider $400+

At these prices, clear plastic bins or something similar - Rubbermaid or whatever - are pretty hard to beat -------- unless you have deep pockets and can't do without the convenience of a sliding tray.

Any fixtures you install take up potentially valuable space. My storage doors’ bottom edge is several inches above the storage floor, so adding any type of sliding rails that clear the storage door will sacrifice those bottom several inches of storage *and* all the space to the sides of the doors.

In other words, the doors aren’t the same size as the storage compartment. Keep your options open so you can shift the contents around your storage area. That’s probably why storage tubs are so popular.

I like the plastic storage boxes. They come in all styles and sizes.

Sterilite is one of the popular brands, and their products are readily available in Target, Home Depot, WalMart, Lowes, Staples, etc. etc.

Since we bought the Cougar which has a huge pass-through basement, I've been buying their "Ultra" series. They stack and have clips to hold the lids on securely. The clear plastic makes it super easy to find things, too.

Sterilite makes the RubberMaid line of storage containers, too.

We use the clear plastic storage bins as well. You just can't beat these. As the weight of the bins vary, you can move them around in the storage area, and see what's in them w/o pulling everything out. We keep one separate, just for sewage related work - gloves, gaskets, etc... and another for drinking water supplies - filters, hoses, regulator, etc...

We keep our trailer in storage when not in use, and it's nice to be able to quickly pull the bins out and stack them in a corner of our garage until the next trip.

Kind of figured that was the case but wanted to make sure the I was not over looking something. We purchased a number of the clear crates the other day. Thanks for all the input!
