New Cougar XLite 28SGS Issue

We took our new 28SGS out last weekend. Setup the trailer, open the gray water vales and made sure the black water was close. Next morning after our showers I checked tank levels. Gray water was filling up, nothing in the black water tank.
The labels on the vales were reversed.

At least they labeled yours. Our new 26SAB has no labels so the first time we use it I'll have to guess which 2 of the 3 are for the grey. Our 07 Cougar was labeled backwards . No biggie I just painted a black sq & a grey sq. above the correct valve.

My 2012 26SAB valves are from left to right: black, grey, grey.

Makes we wonder if we got lucky or if it was fixed. Ours seems to be correct, gray on the left, black on the right, as when I played with it in the driveway, I put some water in the gray tanks and then pulled that valve and water came out, and nothing in the black and when I pulled that one nothing came out.

Either that or the dealer fixed it preemptively.

As I look at ours from left to right (front to back) ... the 1st 2 are bout 3 inches apart (figuring these are both grey, maybe #1 then #2 in that order) and the third pull bout 12 inches away, figure this is black. After I dewinterize here in a week or so I'll figure out which is which.

On the 28SGS the valves are in the same order as the drains...in other words, the black is on the left like the toilet, the bathroom grey tank valve is in the middle a few inches to the right of the black tank valve, and the kitchen grey tank valve is farther to the right and is a longer rod.

Nasty surprise on first trip out...

My neighbor just purchased a Cougar 29RET. He took it out with us a few weekends ago right after he had picked it up from the dealer. We spent the weekend checking out his new trailer (which convinced us to buy our new 28SGS). When we got ready to leave, he went to hook up his stinky slinky to dump and discovered that the valves were still open from the PDI at the dealership, and that he now had full tanks and open valves! We closed the valves, and with the help of a 5 gallon bucket, rubber gloves, and a strong breeze were able to open the cap and attach the hose without any major disasters. It was a definite reminder to add drain valves to my pre-trip inspection!

Vegasbt, I had same thing happen and a moderator on here gave great advice. Get a sewer cap that has the small garden type hose opening made into it. With that replacing the factory sewer cap, you loosen the little hose cap up first. If liquid comes out it is easy to stop it or control discharge. Than go back and push the valve levers closed again. Than remove the cap and connect the sewer hose. All the RV stores stock them.

This isn't just a Keystone issue and affects many other manufacturers. I think the guys on the line just like to switch the labels to make it fun for the rest of us.
