[QUOTE=Desert185;244844]Here's an alarming development. I believe this to be pertinent to Americans traveling within Canada when an American is detained for notes in his iPad to be used for an invited speech. I actually find it quite shocking.
Desert185-
I don't believe that, for one second, that any law-abiding and "regular" Americans travelling in Canada, have anything to worry about. If they have been granted permission at the border to enter our country, then they should feel free to travel without fear of being detained, questioned, or watched.
However, if they are here at the request of some odd-ball, ultra right-wing fanatical group who are "anti" whatever and their message is one of hate or fear mongering then we have every right - just as you do - to have a look at their "notes".
I guess if these reports that you used as references appeared on Facebook, then they must be true.
Finally, your post and mine are borderline political in nature and, as such, are not allowed on this forum. My apologies - I should know better.
Relax. Come to Canada and help us celebrate our 150th birthday on July 1st. I promise you, no one will demand that you hand over your iPad.
