Hinged mattress - Passport

We recently purchased a 2011 Keystone Passport 190EXP which is a light weight travel trailer with the expandable tent bunk ends. The mattress is hinged, ie. folds, in order to fold up the bunk ends. The mattress is very thin and uncomfortable. We were told by the dealer that there is no upgrade available, but I need to do something! We love our trailer but hate the mattress. Any creative solutions out there?

My first thought (and you've probalby already considered this) is and air mattress. I can't recommend any particular brand since I've not been in your situation, but I know that there are some very good quality ones out there.

Just my .02 worth.

I have a Zeppelin with folding bed, it was unsleepable, had a local mattress maker make one out of his best sleeper sofa mattress stuff.

It sleeps better than my house bed. Will fold up, i made a hold back of a closet pole hanger and pvc.

Mattress

We bought a couple of Gel-Foam mattresses, they work good on top of the stock ones.
