Coleman Mach AC Green Light

I’ve got a new 2024 Cougar half ton 25mle with two Coleman Mach ac units. We’ve never even turned them on yet. There are green lights on them that never shut off. I can’t find anything much about them. Is this normal?

I called Coleman.
They said that light is on as long as there is power to it.
Even thought is not cooling.
She said place a piece of black tape over the led.
I said obviously your designers and engineers are not campers.
It is fairly bright in total darkness.

Yeah man! It’s very bright. It also blinks codes if something is wrong. I guess if the ac doesn’t work take the tape back off?

I can totally relate. We have a tiny green LED on our bathroom light switch at home. Hardly noticeable except at night when it acts as a night light surprisingly illuminating the entire bathroom.

I went out and looked and the led light sits a bit above a frame piece so you don't even have to put the tape right on the bulb. In addition, the green light still shows a little bit around the sides of the frame piece so you could still see a blinking code even with tape over it.

I put tape over the opening in the frame piece below the bulb and viola!!! No more lazer beam from the ceiling!!!

I appreciate your reply to this very much! I know my DW would have had words about that light right above the bed.

Years ago, Jay Leno introduced the same method to stop the clock from blinking on your VCR; just place a piece of electrical tape over it!

Yep, and I can't count the number of RV owners who have put a strip of tape over the LED clock on their stereo in the trailer (or motorhome)....
