Some Mods to Make Things Easier

We took delivery of our 27RKS last July and have put nearly 10,000 miles on it so far in two long trips and multiple shorter trips within Michigan. Usually the boat is behind the fifth wheel, but for the most recent trip to Galveston this winter, we didn't tow the boat.

Probably the most satisfying mod was installing the BAL locking arms. They completely eliminated all the rocking and occupant induced movement within the coach. Two arms on each of the front landing gear and one arm on each of the rear scissors jacks.

The sewer hose storage mod will hold three extending hoses for a total of 30' of hose storage.

The dump valve access door sure makes it easier to access the dump valves without kneeling and reaching under the coach.

The added end cap dump valve (with garden hose access) allows for maximizing gray water storage and keeps any unwanted suprises inside the plumbing until the hose is attached.

Continuing on the outside, the LED tail lights and rear camera make it safer to tow the boat as well as to see anything behind the trailer.

Underneath, the BAL spare tire carrier frees up the rear bumper from "clutter" as well as protecting the spare tire from UV while protecting the bumper from "vibrations and bending".

Note on the two attaching legs of the spare tire carrier, I had to modify them to fit the outriggers on the trailer frame rails. I haven't sealed the "raw edges" with spray undercoating yet, but have applied "navy rust remover" to the exposed bare metal.

The detachable Marinco power kit makes for much easier shore power connections.

Inside, in addition to converting all lighting to LED's, the most notable mod for comfort was the removal of the "one step" (11" rise) to the front of the trailer and replacing it with a two step 7" rise platform. Even at my "young age" my knees appreciate that accommodation...

Why Keystone would build two cabinets 40" wide and 48" tall with no interior shelves is a question that I can't answer, I did put shelving in both the entertainment cabinets to help improve storage.

Additionally, the medicine cabinet over the vanity needed another shelf to improve "small item" storage...

Also, last but not least, the fantastic fan addition in the bath definitely improves ventilation in that small space.

No picture of the oxygenics showerhead, but it's there, behind the frosted glass walls.

Mods all look great! I really like the access hatch for pulling the black and grey valve handles.

A long cold winter and those days in April in Galveston when it was "too hot" to go outside until the sun went down... There are only so many hours one can sit under the awning sipping a pina colada before it's time to get up and do "something" ---- "ANYTHING" !!!

Looks good, we all do our little things to help us out. The favorite thing that I have done was to add the 6 inch PVC pipe under the trailer for sewer hose storage, makes things so easy. Like you I can fit 30 feet of hose pluse my elbow.
