The HIdeout vs others ??

I am a newbie here so please don't yell too loud in response to my question.
I am considersing a Hideout 26RLS but am also looking at entry level Heartland and Forest RIver units. Just because ths is a Keystone forum I wonder if anyone has had experience with any of those competitors ? I have seen some negative stuff on the net regarding Heartland units but know nothing about FOrest RIver products. I am leaning toward the Keystone unit but just wonder how anyone views these "other guys" from an experieince standpoint ?

I have owned other brands before we now have a hideout 26b and have been very happy with it.
The best advice I can give is if it suites your needs and you like the layout go for it.
Keep in mind all TT are made on A assemble line there for they all can have small problems.
But if you have a good dealer these problems will be taken care of quickly.
What ever you brand you end up with just remember dont sweat the small stuff and buy all means HAVE FUN

Every company has some quality assurance issues once in awhile so looking for the perfect camper is foolish. Sometimes you get one with no issues and sometimes you get one with a few little things or sometimes a big thing that needs to be corrected. the key is finding a dealer that has great feedback that will take care of it IF you have a problem.

What I did was try to educate myself on the differences or plus and minuses of a camper type by reading as much as I could on the manufactures websites about the differences between camper brands and lines and what the strengths off each were. Some are better insulated, some are meant for 4 season camping/living, some are designed to be light weight, some are designed with other features. Once you decide what is important to you and find a few models that suit your needs, sign up for their forums and read as much as you can about that model or line of campers and see what the people that own them think about them.

Now weigh that with the knowledge the people upset the most scream the loudest but if you see numerous posts about the same issue, that should weigh more heavily than a few. Many people perfectly happy with their campers seldom post.

I felt this method worked well in helping me decide what I wanted. It gave me some education before I went shopping to know if the model the saleman was pushing me towards met my needs or was just a bigger commision check for him.

About 6 months ago, a poll was conducted on the forum to see if those members who currently own a Keystone RV would buy another Keystone product. The poll results indicated that approximately 90% would buy Keystone again which is a pretty good endorsement of their RV's. Many members did comment that, despite small issues many of which were fixed up by the dealer or the owner, they were satisfied with their purchase.

I have a Hornet and haven't had any issues with it in the year I've owned it.
(outside of towing issues). Three of our camping friends have (Forest River) Rockwoods. Each of them has had theirs back to the dealer at least three times that I know of. We have even had to work on minor things while camping. I'd buy Keystone again.

We bought our Hornet 31RLDS used, but I don't think the previous owners used it much. We have had ours 1 year the only problems we have had is that someone before us turned on the water heater with water and on our second trip we discovered it, Just remember it is a house on wheels and "toys" are always gonna need something, because most of us after time decide something now is important that may be wasn't in the begininng. Hence the mod part of our forum. We had a 97 Nomad before and I would buy a Keystone again. Just remember camping should be fun and making memories and that includes a few bumps along the way.LOL

Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry We went ahead and purchased the Hideout 26RLS. It is a good deal for us the layout is good for our needs and our TV should be capable of towing it so we went ahead. This forum has been very responsive and I really appreciate the good feedback.
